Hello...
I am trying to integrate physical Cisco switches with GNS3 virtual router simulation program, but I am not getting the desired results. Whenever I try to ping from the virtual router to the real switch, the pings fail. Everything seems to be configured correctly, but it's still not working.
After doing a bit of troubleshooting, I realized that the problem could possibly be that my MBP's NIC is not passing 802.1q frames because the NIC is stripping off the VLAN tags as they pass through...
Does anyone know if 802.1q is on by default? I read that the MBP's NICs support 802.1q trunking...
Also, if anyone in this forum has used GNS3 in conjunction with real Cisco switches, please let me know how you did it .
Thanks in advance!!!
