Anyone was thinking about buying the new 80gb iPod...it is only $320 at CompUSA...30$ cheaper than the apple site!!

Good deal, but I am not even close to having filled my 60GB iPod up to capacity yet. :)

Call a store and check it out.

For 30$ that's not that long of a wait.

Complainers Complainers.
i'd rather pay $30 than wait a month for my iPod to ship, heh.

but, doesn't matter to me.. i just ordered a refurb 60gb :D
i don't think the extra 20gb is worth the extra $120 to buy the 80gb new.

This is a great deal.

Curious as to why Compusa would take such a hit on a new product though especially (as mentioned) without a rebate.

I am sure that Compusa gets great deals on these iPods when buying direct from Apple to allow them to slash the price like this. :)

Actually, their margins are VERY slim, MAYBE 5%. This is a traffic move. Bring in some traffic and sell them accessories, which they get a solid 500-700% markup on sometimes.

I was not aware of that, thanks for the tip MovieCutter. :)

Wal-Mart still has the old iPods for higher prices. Two people were looking at them today. I tried to catch them to tell them to buy from apple.com. Who knows how long it will be before Wally World catches up.

Selling higher priced iPods, another reason for me to continue my boycott of Wal-Mart. :p :D :)

I can assure you this is not the case. CompUSA's cost is very close to the MSRP.

Maybe they got hints of the upcoming video iPod?

No chance in Hades.

Some proof that the webmaster is asleep at the wheel. Should be $249.99
