iPod 80gb iPod Video Lock comes on in dock????

Just the last few days when I put my 80 gb iPod video in either the dock, or my logitech express audio station the little lock shows on the display right next to the pause (upper left) and I can't do anything with it until I remove it. Then the lock goes away, and I can change it, or whatever. I checked the hold is not on, and I did reboot the ipod. any ideas?
