Anyone has a Acer 27" B273HU or HP 2709m monitor?

I am thinking of this monitor. Anyone has opinion on Acer LCDs? It will my my first Acer anything. I am also considering a HP 27" HP 2709m. 16:9 is important to me because I want to use it as a TV mostly. It will be mated with a late 2009 Mac Mini 2.5ghz.

Acer 27" is the better choice.

I am wanting to get a new monitor and searching the internet to see what opinions people might have on the Acer 27" B273HU monitor as well. I have been searching for a large display, over 23" diagonal, and have enough pixels to create a sharp image. I don't like 23" 16:9 displays that are 1920 x 1080, because I currently own a 23" Apple Cinema Display that is 16:10 at 1920 x 1200, and I like the additional working space. One thing I like about the Acer 27" is that it has a super high resolution workspace at 2048 x 1152, regardless that it is 16:9. You would also need a graphics card that could handle that many pixels. The HP is a large screen at 27", but the resolution is only 1920 x 1080. I think going with the Acer 27" would be the best choice of the two. However, I like the contrast ratio (8000000:1) and response time (2ms) of the LED display by Acer B243HL. I just don't like that it is 16:9. I am wondering why engineers think they need to keep computer monitors at that ratio. I want to get the most workspace and my preference would be to have a 27" LED Backlit at a 2048 x 1280.

just got an HP 2709m for my 13" Macbook aluminium

I like it so far, running it at a max resolution of 1920x1080 ... its bright, and im not sure if that is just because I am not used to this display but its nice and worth the $399 (was 350)

You get what you pay for. I couldn't stand the color shifts myself that are inherent in a TN display.
