My broken MBP sold in 2minutes after I put it on eaby, scam??!!

I'm not sure I understand. You're the seller?

The guy who bought it seems legit, has lots of sales, and a good reputation. He used Buy it Now. So... what's the problem?

This is the first time I sell thing over ebay, and the buyer is just so quick( right after I put my laptop up,he bought it), so I feel a little bit nervous and want to know if it's a scam. :eek:
 
It's only a scam if the seller (you) are a scammer. If he buys it quickly, he either knows what he's doing, or he's an idiot. Either way, it's a legitimate sale.
 
I would say too low of a price. Bing cashback is 10 percent, so he got it for nearly 300.

I would have bought it and taken it to apple. It could be the 8600m dying and they replace those for free for 3 years. New dvd players aren't expensive

Basically he could have just got a useable macbook pro for a good price.
 
My iPhone sold in literally 1 minute the night before the 3G was released. The guy never left feedback, but his money was good, so.
 
The guy clearly knows what hes doing. Obviously he fixes computers and probably re sells them. This is in no way a scam. You didn't know how to fix it or didn't want to try so you sold it for what you wanted. He knows how to fix it or is willing to try, so he bought it for what he was willing to pay.

This post is obviously about seller's remorse because you're greedy.

And just maybe, the guys loves classic tennis matches.

I'd only make sure you send it to a confirmed Paypal address and use delivery confirmation with a signature required.
 
bad GPU? im pretty sure your model (same as mine) can get that repaired for free by Apple for free (i did). They extended all the MBPs from that time to 3 years...


So given that, if the GPU naturally died he seems like he bought a will be working laptop (minus optical drive) for 350 bucks. I think you lowballed yourself.
 
I think the price you are selling is too low. why don't you try to fixed it first?

Edzachary. Unless you are trying to scam the buyer, I don't see where the concern is. If he paid you, and you have the money in hand, what's the problem. :confused: I don't get it. :confused:

There's also a trick where you can put the mobo in the oven @ 350 for like 10 minutes and it will melt and reform the broken solder joints inside the GPU, turning this "broken" mobo into a perfectly working one.

Then this guy could turn around and make $1000 profit on it.
 
software on drive

Are you including all the discs and licenses for the included software? Be sure you wipe out any personal information (contacts/login info, etc) on the drive...
 
I guess I'm confused... As long as he pays you, then there isn't a problem...

You're joking right? I tend to not put anything in the oven unless I plan to eat it. Baking a mobo in an oven has epic fail written all over it. :rolleyes:
 
I sold a 15inch Powerbook g4 on ebay this time last year and it sold 5 minutes after putting in on for $350. It didnt even have and operating system.

That's because you were only asking $350. ;) 15" Pb G4, assuming it was the 1.67 Ghz model was selling for ~$750 this time last year. Still ~$650 this year.
