I just saw on tivocommunity.com that when you create a new thread and type in the subject, it automatically does a search and the search results automatically pop up in the page between the title box and the message box. We need something like that on macrumors!!

Thats a great idea. Although I'm not so offended when someone starts a duplicate or similar thread. People seem to get so perturbed over it.

I think that the OP has a great idea. The only time I get annoyed by it is when we have a million threads one per day on the same topic.

I didn't mean to tease, by the way. If anything, it shows that spotting previous threads on a topic isn't as easy as it might seem, and that suggestions to make it easier have merit.

But if MR did have that "whiz-bang" technology, then what would the mods have to merge, trim, lock, and delete?

;)
