First credit to Chicago Keri who posted that there is a bootrom upgrade for the MBP 8,1 & 9,2

post #3565 https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...4-0-0-0-0-with-10-14-5-final.2132317/page-143

I ran Security Update 2019-003 on my 8,1 Core i7 MBP but had to go somewhere before it finished downloading . .today i discovered that my 8,1 bootrom had upgraded from 82.0.0.0.0 to 85.0.0.0.0

Bear in mind that you HAVE TO run the Security Update 2019-003 to achieve the upgrade.

Today, the MBP 9.2 got updated from 10.14.4 to 10.14.5.
Along with 10.14.5, the bootrom went from 224.0.0.0.0 to 226.0.0.0.0.

Odd, as 224.0.0.0.0 was only a week or so old.

The MBP 8.1 shows no new updates...

My 2011 MBP Core i7 WAS at bootrom 80.0.0.0.0 but after I ran the Security Update 2019-003 update it had been updated to 85.0.0.0.0.

Great !

Just verified my early MBP 17 (2011) 8,3 is at boot rom 85.0.0.0.0 as well.

Running 10.13.6 build 17G8011

Anyone whom has done the 2019-003 Security update will be at 85.0.0.0.0 Bootrom
