I recently purchased a 13" MacBook pro and subsequently upped the RAM to 4Gb, and the hard drive to 320Gb as it will now be my primary desktop machine.

I'd like to place my MacBook on a stand that would elevate it slightly in order to improve airflow. I didn't even know these things existed until I saw one at my buddy's house a few days ago.

Does anyone use one of these stands for their MacBook, and if so, do you have any in particular that you would recommend? Thanks!

Thanks for the link, that is a very interesting stand.

That said, I plan on connecting my Macbook to a larger monitor that I already have, and using a Blue tooth keyboard and mouse. So, I'm hoping to find something that doesn't have as large of a profile since the Macbook will essentially be on, but most always closed.

I like the Logitech alto cordless... if you don't have an external monitor. It comes with a nice wireless keyboard and flods flat to boot! Even better, it can often be found for $20 with free shipping (I got mine from buy.com, but have seen it elsewhere at that price).

I made a prototype of a stand a year ago:

If your interested I can get you one for $25

Right now I am using a K•Swiss shoe box to elevate mine, lol.

Otherwise I have looked at these two, I kind of like the second one better but it is more expensive.

I wound up getting the second linked stand you posted, the Rain Design. I liked the looks of this one the best, plus it seems to sit the screen perfectly if I want to use the Macbook screen, or I can put it to the side and link it to my larger monitor.

As you can see from my response above, I already purchased one. That said, I am very impressed at what you designed. You definitely have some mad skills. It looks very nice, and lest we not forget, chicks dig guys with computer skills.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

+1 for the mstand.

I got the elevator. It isn't bad for what you get but....I think I may have preferred the mstand more.

Good choice, glad I could help!

If you are willing to spend a bit more, go for an MStand - they are made out the same alluminum that the Macbooks are made out of, and as a result it looks awesome. If you have a bit tighter, I would go for the Logitech Alto Express Laptop Stand. It's made out of curvy clear plastic and looks awesome. It also doesn't elevate the Macbook as much as the MStand, which in my case was actually better, as now it is the same height as the screen, and with the MStand it would have been higher.

While we are here, and I don't want to create a new thread on the matter. What are my options for an adjustable stand? Or how can I make my own adjustable stand, I have seen a DIY PVC stands, so I was just wondering what options I had out there.

Sorry for the thread jack.
