Hi all,

I am thinking of buying an extra power adapter for my 13.3 MBP late 2009 model. I have the following questions about it:

1) Can I use a 85W MagSafe adapter (instead of 60W) for charging MBP?
2) There are several cheaper 85W non-apple adapters available on ebay. Is there any risk in buying them?

Regards,
Kalpesh

Searching will answer both.

Yes, you can use the 85w to charge your MacBook Pro. Buying on eBay risks quality, try finding one used in good condition on Craigslist.

My friend has one of those power supplies from eBay. They work perfectly fine. He's been using it for a few months now. You can get like 3 of them for the same price as one original one form Apple.
