Hi, Am i right in thinking that it is ok to use the 85w Magsafe from my 15" MacBook Pro with a 13" 2010 MacBook Air?

Yes you are. The computer will only take as much Watt that it needs.
So it's always OK to use a "stronger" charger. But not the other way.

Yup.. You're Good!!

YES indeed, 'Soundcheck' is correct..

The Voltage Output is the same, and the Amperage 'draw' that a larger machine requires may put an adverse stress on a Smaller Sized Charger.. my 2011 15" MBP Adaptor already gets Very Warm some days, so I certainly wouldn't want to see it 'work any harder'..

So, Just DO It!! ;)

The smaller wattage charger will work, they will charge much slower and run hotter.

Also, the computer may actually discharge while being plugged in if it is being used to it's full potential, say by gaming.

No, it's ok to use a weaker changer too - It just charges slower.

Negative. Using a lower wattage charger can cause SMC issues. In addition, if the computer is under sufficient load it may not charge at all, instead the power is being used to supply the computer not the battery.

It is inadvisable to use a charger outputting lower wattage than the default charger.
