8600GT 512mb vs. 9600GT 256mb?

What's fastest? I ordered the new one with 9600GT 256MB, but is the 512MB 8600GT better?

The 512MB would come into play at higher resolutions. Having not seen benchmarks to compare, I'm going to guess the 9600m is better given a top resolution of 1440x900

No the 9600M GT is faster.

The 8600 GT is better because of it's memory size. That is as long as it doesn't fail on you.

ever compared the 256 vs 512 8600gt?
There is a marginal difference because the poor GPU cant feed the ram. The 512mb will only be better if the 9600gt still has the ram bug in some situations...
