Hey guys!

I have a late 2008 MBP that has 862 battery cycles. Lately I've had some issues with the trackpad being hard to press and highlighting everything on the page when the computer gets hot. I've read how the battery can swell and mess with that. I don't mind that it sticks all that much because I'll be handing it down to my mother who doesn't use the computer for long periods of time, but I'm worried about the overall health of the computer. Will it be fine for another year or so, or is it imperative to change the battery now?

Thanks!

I own the same late 2008 model. Last September I found the trackpad was hard to press as well. As it was still under warranty (purchased 3-year AppleCare), I took it to Apple Store, it turned out to be that the battery has physical expansion.
