Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to play sound through the speakers and headphones of a computer simultaneously.

The reason I was wondering if it would work, is because I'm recording a song for school, and I can't hear the backing track through my speakers, but my computer still picks it up. However if i we're to use headphones and my speakers could be playing the same thing at the same time, everything would be fine.

Thanks.

Alright, I couldn't seem to find where to turn this on. I'm using built in MBP speakers, and apple headphones to more clearly describe it. Are you sure this mode works with headphones?

No, when you said "speakers" I incorrectly assumed you meant AirTunes remote speakers. When you plug headphones or desktop speakers into the microphone port on your MBP, it automatically cuts out your built-in speakers.

If you're using external speakers then you can use a splitter on the audio out. For internal speakers I'm not sure. The audio jack is setup to turn off the internal speaker when something is plugged in.

So, If i we're to buy a audio splitter, I could plug external speakers and headphones into it, and they would both play?

Alright, thats fine. I do have external's that are just as good as my internal speakers. Thanks a lot everyone that replied.
