So reading up on a few forums people have been discussing nTune (nVidia's overclocking control panel) so I decided to update my video drivers in XP 64 bit... I had been using drivers from March... but installed the new ones from July.
Install went fine but on reboot saw a bunch of text (looked like firmware issue) and Windows wouldn't load, it kept rebooting. I started up in safe mode, and reinstalled older drivers and things were fine... except now the nVidia control panel shows nTune as an option... and clicking on it gets an instant reboot... and same issues. I tried uninstalling all the drivers, and reinstalling old ones... restoring old settings... but nTune is still there (which I won't touch)
Is it that the newer drivers are designed for the PC GT and not the Mac GT? Anyone else run into this issue? Do I need to update the firmware, and am I in danger of making it unusable on the Mac side?
I'm on Jan 2008 Mac Pro 2.8 Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, nVidia 8800 GT, 4x 1TB Wes Dig drives, Wireless Keyboard & Mighty Mouse, Sharp Aquos 37" via DVI-D cable.
