I am looking to do some screen recordings at 1080p (1920x1080)... problem is, I cannot set my system to that... or at least its not available.

I have a mac pro with 8800 card and 30" ACD. I am currently recording at 2560x1600 and then scaling down, which sucks because it's not the same aspect, so the end result is slightly stretched (or letterboxed).

How can I change the resolution to 1920x1080?

If you can, try it under Windows.

I can get 1920x1080 in windows using a 30" ACD and a x1900 or 8800

its not..."accurate"....if that makes sense...might be best just to use the letter boxed higher resolutions to record.
the 30" ACD is higher thens standard HD.
