Has anyone had problem with the 8800GT (For Mac pro2008 Mac edition) installed on Mac Pro 2009? It works on mine but during the first two minutes getting into OSX, the PCI and PSU fan spins almost 2000RPM, after that everything works normal (silent with 600+ rpm fans on both PSU and PCI)

Rebooting does not cause the fan to spins high, so only cold boot.

Any pointer?

PS. It does not happen if I boot into windows

On my machine the fans spin up on a cold boot or restart, but only until the apple appears and then kicks in the commands to stop the fans from running so high.

Are there any other machines or cards you can test with?

yap tested with GT 120 and it does not do that, only the 8800, but the 8800 works fine on mac pro 08

The spin up is fine, but the PCI and Power Supply Fan at 2000RPM for 2 minutes inside Leopard is the odd one

Replaced the 8800GT with GTX 285 and problem solved
