RAM Suggestions

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like to bump up my 4gb ram on my Macbook when I go and buy it to 8gb. As it is right now I can get the upgrade BTO for $360 (Education Discount).

Am I better off doing that or buying it separately and installing myself?

Get it from Apple. 2x4GB is ~350$ so not much difference
