8GB in a Macbook 5.2

Ok, I just need to know if this is posible to have 8gb in a Macbook 5.2. I bought it in October 2009 from the Apple store,. It is not a unibody.

Anyway is 6gb my max, or can i go for the full 8gb?

( F.Y.I. 2-4gb sticks of ram are already on the way so i'm hoping for the 8gb.)

OK, It says i can only handle 6gb. Some other forums on here still suggest i can run 8gb of ram. They say that is the case with 5.1 and 5.2 and up.

Just ensure your EFI is up-to-date before you install them.

If the 8GB didn't work, are you running with a 2GB + 4GB setup to get to 6GB?

If it did, what was the brand of the memory you bought?
