Claro Dominicana is selling iPhone 3G in Dominican Republic for the equivalent of 90 US Dollars.

Hell yes!

I used to live in DR but find that hard to believe:eek: since everything over there is always more expensive. I can imagine the contract is 2 years, how much is the minimum monthly?

Ouch, the plans are expensive and are really crappy! I knew it!!

To get it for $90 its a 2 year contract and the cheapest plan is $68 Dollars a month (Without all the taxes) for 400 minutes, 200 messages and 200 MB of Data download...:rolleyes:

Note- The 200 messages are only for other customers using the same carrier (Claro), all other messages to other carriers cost aditional each message!

prices

to get it for 90 bucks you can also have a 600 minute plan (only outgoing minutes are counted, incoming calls are free) with unlimited data.

For 95 dollars without tax (Adds up to more then 100 dollars a month), with the only thing being unlimited is Data. Only 600 minutes and 300 SMS within the carrier.

Its still a rip off

Here in Switzerland, the 8 GB) sells for about 80 US$ (Swisscom), with a 2 years contract.

The monthly fee is less than 50 US$. It includes 1 GB of data. No messages or free minutes are included.

I payed 165 US$ for my 16 GB (final price). Seems quite good to me.

Well, here in Norway you can get the 8GB iPhone for NOK 1,- (≈ USD 0.14).

But only if you sign up for a year long contract with the insanely expensive iTalk Large plan, which gives you 1000 minutes, 1000 SMSs and 1000 MB data for NOK 1099 (≈ USD 153) per month.
