I've seen plenty of cheap sites to get good ram for american mbp owners, but since I live in australia, sites like newegg aren't feasible options.

I found this owc ram for $129, and it comes with the necessary phillips #00 screwdriver for $10, plus another 10 for postage.

Has anyone else found a better deal for aussies, or somewhere I can find a phillips #00 and #2 screwdriver in the same cheap pack? (plan to upgrade my imac at the same time)

Just go direct through OWC/macsales as that same ram is only US$109.99 + US$4.87 shipping.
With the ausse dollar at the moment that is $111 or so.

Or you can just go through someone like Umart or MSY in Australia and just get the right laptop SODIMM's

Just checked it, even with the price of the dollar at the moment it'll cost me more to buy it from owc or crucial direct. And that's not even including the exchange fees.

Hiya,

I'm not exactly sure what the prices are, haven't looked in a while, but it might be worth taking a look at Ramcity. They usually have pretty good prices and are quite reputable. It's incredibly simple to find the right RAM as well.

Hope you have fun with the extra gigs:D, I'm still chugging away with 2gb on my windows box

I use macfixit.com.au, I highly recommend them.
