I thought before WWDC that some of the MBPs were working with 8GB RAM, like maybe the 2.66 and 2.8 or something. Can anyone confirm that? I am interested in knowing if I could get a previous generation refurb that will take 8GB when it becomes cheap enough, thus keeping 3.0Gb SATA and ExpressCard as well. Thanks!

I'm using 8gb ram in my early 09 umbp 15'' 2.66, and haven't had any problems so far. And its been about a month since I upgraded...

Excellent! Does your machine recognize and use the full 8GB? Do you think a 2.66 on the Apple refurb store would be also Early 09 or is there a way to differentiate them? Thank you for your reply!
