Seems like 8gb gets you a lot more performance than expected.
Got the base model M1 pro since I’ll most likely get the big boy 16” when it gets released.

Smashing safari, 4k videos, tabs galore, opened every app on my mac, the M1 beast can’t be slowed down. 👌😎

8 gigs ram is MORE than enough.

That's what I was thinking when a lot people complained that 8GB is not enough.

Guess the M1 unified memory is more efficient than the old fashioned DDR3/4 sticks...

Can't wait to test it along side my 2019 MBP 16" and the Mini it's replacing (2012).

Read this article and almost regretted paying for 16GB on my Air...

...for a moment...

...then thought: How good will my (soon to be delivered) 8/8 Air with 16GB be...?!? :D

More awesome than my 8GB machine, for sure :)

If the upgrade was $100 (which it should be), then I'd most likely go for 16GB. But $200 is quite a lot for something that seems "unnecessary" if you use the machine for casual usage.
