I currently have a mid-2010 13" MBP (2.4/4GB). I'm looking to upgrade via education pricing to a new 13". I'm considering the low end (i5) and just upping the RAM to the 8GB. I think it might be worth the $180.

Basic uses are Word, Web surfing, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.

Whether or not you come to the conclusion of upgrading, don't do it as a BTO option when you buy it, purchase from a 3rd party after.

Save yourself a ton of money and just upgrade your current MBP to 8gb.

It's what I have done and I am more than happy with the results
