Hey guys,

Sorry for posting this question as I know there's many threads related to it, but I feel like everyone's uses are different, so hard to join an existing thread.

anyways, finally replacing my 09 MB Pro with a retina display one. The only memory-intensive software I really use on a regular basis is Adobe Lightroom. Other than that, office and browsing and music. Is it worth it to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM?

I do have a habit of leaving a lot of browser windows open, as well as most of my main apps (mail, itunes, etc)

For the uses you describe, absolutely not. In fact you can get away with 4.
I use Lr all the time and there is no lag whatsoever. If your usage doesn't change then those are 200,- wasted.
