Anyone noticed that they have about halved in the last couple of weeks..very tempted to hit buy and get me to 12GB of RAM, £290 at crucial

8GB (2x4GB) is more than enough for me right now. Might as well wait til 16GB (2x8GB) plummets below $100 IMO before it's feasible.

Indeed. I watch it every day like the stock market. Currently US$880 at OWC down from $1600 originally in June. I'm not sure how long to wait for further price drops. I think $700 will be my kick point. Still exorbitant, but I don't want to wait till next year; too much Photoshop.

Anybody know of other trustworthy sources besides OWC?

Hopefully the same goes for SSD's also soon. Hopefully the lower quantity prices drop a little also.

I wont bite until its in the sub-500 range. 16GB would help a lot with my VM and DB work, but its not worth that much to me.

In a perfect world my next MBP will be a 2.5GHz + quadcore, 2x240GB SATA3 SSD in RAID0 and 16GB of RAM, but I'll happily settle for what I can logically approve for myself.
