I am going to buy a MBP and would like 8GB but even with the ADC it is an extra $800. That seems way high since Apple keeps the 2X2GB that comes with the base config. When I look at Crucial the 2X4GB is over $900 and I didn't see anywhere that sold it other than Crucial....

Any thoughts?

Thanks

 If it's cheaper through Apple than anywhere else you can find it, why are you asking? Get it from Apple.

Changing memory on the 17" isn't as easy as on the other systems, also. Keep that in mind.

Apple actually reasonably prices its RAM, and Apple at the moment is one of the best places to buy the 2 x 4 (8GB) package from. However if i were you i would just get the 4GB (2x2GB) for now, and upgrade to 8GB from Crucial or some other 3rd party in a year when its going to cost you half the price. Its very unlikely you need 8GB now unless your a major app programmer who runs many virtual machines alongside xcode and various debugging programs?
