The silicone case is very stiff around the power and volume buttons, cracks showed up about 4 weeks ago when I pulled the phone out to clean it (still holds the phone no problem). Then one day i just looked at it and a piece at the Lighting connector hole was missing. Going back to leather now. Do you have similar experience?

Now looks worse than my $2 Aliexpress one I ordered before the phone came.

Dang, you are rough on your phone ha
You think? I did travel with silicone, but so I did with the leather one, which I had for much longer. No screen protector - no scratches there. The yellow marks are from sunscreen. No yellow marks on leather.

I travel as well and had silicone cases on phones for years so I have no idea how you are cracking button areas let alone taking a chunk out of the lightning port.

My silicone cases have lasted pretty long! I’ve used them for months and have never experienced chunks of it coming out or it ripping like that but I am pretty careful with my phone.

2 months? Wow. I've been rocking an Apple silicone case for about 11 months and aside from it becoming somewhat sticky and some very minor peeling around the top edge, it's held up much better than yours.

Maybe, maybe not. I was just comparing much longer used leather vs. silicone. The day to day usage was the same.
Well I don’t know what you’re doing with your case because after 6 months mine is still in fairly pristine condition and that was when my 12 Mini was my daily driver. I think, wear and tear wise, the leather case is more robust than the silicone one. I expect mine to look like yours after 2 years though, not 2 months.

Some people are just trashers lol from iPhone cases to cars 😀
Some people don't understand when travelling for months a silicone case may fall apart while leather will last. I was just speaking from my experience, and from my experience, silicone sucks.

A leather MagSafe case because it's thin, makes iPhone easier to hold, but not too "sticky" like silicone that you have a more difficult time getting it out of your pocket. Downside is that it's not as protective as other cases.
