9 pin dock connector possibly Thunderbolt compatible?

This would be awesome if the new 9 pin dock connector was compatible with the Thunderbolt port on the MacBook's. It'd make the (rare) times you need to quickly sync your iPhone or do a quick backup a breeze and would be considerably faster than it is now. Would anyone else like to see this feature, or is it just me?

I think it would be a waste & too expensive.

I kind of doubt it b/c PC compatibility has to take the lead. Cost/Benefit isn't there right now. But I think USB 3 is a distinct possibility this round. USB 2 is a bit long in the tooth for syncing and Macs and PCs now have USB 3, plus it's backwards compatible for models that don't have it.

That is very true. Even USB 3 would be an upgrade. I don't sync often, but when I do it can take anywhere between 10-30 minutes, so if I could bring the amount of time it takes down, I'd be happy.

No, it would drive up the cost quite a bit, for both the iPhone and the sync cable.
