Hi everyone,

I bought IPhone 7 last year and after 10 months usage my battery life is 90%. Is it normal? In comparison, my wife has IPhone 6 Plus, which is bought before more than 4 years and the battery life is 89%.
Do you have any suggestions if this is normal or not?

Thank you

I personally don’t consider that to be normal as my iPhone 10 was sitting at 100% battery health when it was 10 months old. But everyone’s usage case will be different.

This is normal. My previous 7 Plus went from 100% to 89% between February and December last year.

I’d only be worried if the battery does not last.

My XR’s battery is still sitting at 100% after 6 months but I doubt it’s true with 200 cycles on the clock.

My first X battery:

April 18 2018 Purchase.

By December 2018 - 220 cycles or so and 97%. Came down to 99% after around 165 cycles or so.

My second battery for same X:

December 2018 - 185 cycles by May end 2019 - 99%.

I don't think it is normal. Have you used dubious third party chargers or used your device in unhealthy temperature conditions?

I have an X since November 2017, I'm a moderate to heavy user and I'm at 93% right now.

It can vary a lot on usage. If you are frequently letting the battery run below 20%, worse yet down to 0% even worse down to 0% and letting it sit overnight. You are going to reduce capacity far more rapidly than normal. As stated high temp usage will hurt it. Also charging the device when the battery is hot.
