Well my brother-in-law decided that the iBook that I gave him as a gift to learn about Macs wasn't what he expected so he decided to give it back to me! Awesome!!!!!

Thanks to eyoungren and his generosity, I am now reinstalling 10.4 and it's going to be beautiful!

With no OS though, the TL optical drive didn't feel like opening up for me, so I had to revert to the good ol' "eject cd" command in Open Firmware. This is completely fun.

Glad to see you got another of those G3s back.

Have fun!

LOL! And at one point all three were being used by junior high yearbook at the Beaumont Unified School District in Beaumont, CA where my mom taught the elective. :D

Pagemaker. Keep in mind they were being used mainly for this purpose before 2006. My mom kept them in another lab once their main purpose was done, but that was what they were originally for.

BUSD is extremely slow to replace equipment, but when they do, it generally ticks my mom off because everything gets screwed up.

Very interesting. We use online tools now that unfortunately greatly depend on the Flash plugin.

Yeah, back then it was Pagewrecker 5 and 6 that was being used.

My mom had to send the file off every June to Herff Jones and I was always getting phone calls about how to fix this or that.

Ironically, we use Herff Jones now but their online eDesign tool is pretty good.

LOL! I wouldn't know now. My mom stopped doing yearbook a few years back so this wasn't an issue any more.

In any case, those three iBooks, including redcroissant's return, have seen a lot of teenagers. :D
