My 22 month old daughter loves playing with my ipod touch on apps like itsy bitsy spider, wheels on the bus, three little pigs, pocket phonics and various other apps.

As my iPad is in no mans land at the moment awaiting to be flown to the UK i thought i'd get a list together of good apps to load on it once its here.

What do you guys recommend?

I'll list the FREE version where possible as that will also link to the paid version anyway.

I'm looking for an app that either zaps or maces any one other than me who comes near my ipad.

I let a little kid use it, I smiled but if anyone looked closely, you would have noticed the steam coming out of my ear as the finger prints mounted.

Thanks for the replies, i'll add the recommendations to the first post ;)

Check these out: (All Free)

- I Hear Ewe (describes objects in 4 different languages)

- Learning Pad (basic ABCs, 123s, etc.)

- Finger Paint (coloring book w/ music)

- Draw (simple drawing program)

Enjoy for the little ones!

The one app my kids are always drawn back to is Talking Carl. It has absolutely no educational value. It's just fun. My 2 and 4 year-olds can spend a half hour "talking" to Carl without tiring of it. It's not an iPad app, specifically - we use it on the iPhone.

(The app basically just records whatever you say and plays it back to you, in a funny voice, as soon as you stop speaking. That's it).
