when you've got 3G turned off? I'm buying a 3G iPad basically for "insurance". I don't plan on using 3G much and never at home. So, if I'm using wifi at my house, can I expect the same battery life as the current wifi only iPad?

# Up to 9 hours of surfing the web using 3G data network"

I would bet money it will be basically the same battery life if 3G is off.

Don't forget to turn of the GPS.

I've never experienced any difference turning location services on or off. Technically you can't turn GPS "off" - it's a chip and always active. It's the apps that run that eat battery. Google Maps - with it's constant geolocating + map redraws sucks the life out of a battery. But the chip itself does very little power draw. And if you're not in an app that uses constant gps/refreshes - there's not going to be battery draw. If any - negligible. And again - you can't turn OFF GPS. You can only turn off Location Services.
