Hi all -

I noticed that my MacBook doesn't run as long as it used to before I have to charge it again. I downloaded CoconutBattery, and it tells me that my battery is down to 91% of its original capacity after only 30 charge cycles. It's 5 months old according to CB, and I bought it new on Dec. 24th. (It's a Unibody White...)

Is this normal, or should I take it into the Apple Store for a replacement?

Thanks!

That sounds about right for a battery of that age. They usually go up and down about 15% in the first year or so. Then they start dropping all on their own.

yeah mine has like 60 charge cycles and ranges anywhere from 88%-97%

at first i was worried but i was told it is normal.

Search around on this site, there are loads of threads on this. It's fine.
I'm surprised you can notice a 9% difference, I would think that's too small to be noticeable given the difference in use pattern from charge to charge.

Age of mine is 9 months, but battery max is still 91%; my school makes us use laptops, so we have to carry it back and forth. I've run completely out about 40 times :/

no big deal.. after 38 cycles I have 94% .. but it drops to like 91% and then back up to 97%... etc...

isn't accurate at all

I seem to be doing OK

Only 30 cycles in 4months...do you use your laptop...
Anyway, mine is 532 cycles with a health status of 96%...according to iStat...but I do only charge my laptop when it drops to less than 10mins remaining on the battery, then unplug it as soon as it fully charges...
