13'' + ipad or 15'' macbook pro

Hi GUYS:
i am planning get my first mac. And i have two options:

1. 13'' low end + 16g wifi ipad
2. 15'' i5 2.4g macbook pro
These are similar prices and my budget is $1700

I am using a HP DV6000 pc right now. I want to use my macbook pro for at least 4 years and i will use it for movie, music, youtube, downloading, web browsing, a little gaming.

I just wondering which option is more cost effective. Hope you guys have some suggestions.

Unless you have use for both, iPad and 13", get the 15".

I would have to agree there, go with the 15". Unless you want a super portable laptop, then you could go with the 13 and some accessories, but I would say the 15. iPads are cool, but with such a portable computer, I don't see much use for one. Not sure if you need the extra power of the i5 in the 15", but that is always a bonus, along with a bit bigger HD. Overall, I think the 15 is a better choice for the money.

Also, I can see a 15" MBP + iPad, vs. 13" MBP, but not a 13" + iPad, that is just small and smaller.
