magic mouse jumping around

just got the new i7 and my magic mouse worked fine for a couple days and now it lags and jumps around the screen alot! any ideas. i used BTT and it does it while BTT is on and while its off.
 
What's your battery life on the mouse? Have you installed all of the latest software updates? There was a Magic Mouse update a while back if you haven't yet installed it.
 
yeah it says my computer is up to date. battery life is 89%. i restarted my computer and its still happening. i also have a wireless keyboard which shouldnt make a difference though
 
Hmm, that is odd. Unfortunately I cannot suggest anything I know will work as I've had no such issues with my Magic Mouse. The only things I can suggest are to try to use it without the wireless keyboard; reseting PRAM and SMC; deleting your Bluetooth prefs; or you can try MagicPrefs instead of Better Touch Tools.
 
I had this problem recently (plus lagging) and I tried everything. Nothing helped.

Then I found a single dog hair inside the cover, perched over the laser lens. When I got rid of it, all was well.
 
I have a similar problem with my Logitech MX1000 laser mouse.... very annoying when the cursor suddenly teleports to another place on the screen and you end up accidentally click on something else than what you intended....

Agreed. I had this problem with my old Mighty Mouse. Was just getting old and needed a clean.

Surfaces can also be a problem, depending on how dirty/shiny they are.

Check your lens and surface. That's the problem.

Dude, did software update, restarts, starting to get paranoid about hackers cuz I DL ALOT of porn, well anyways, it was a damn hair that was caught under the battery cover clipping the laser every so often, FML.

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem with my 13 inch mid 2009 MacBook Pro and apparently it has something to do with either 2.4 Ghz interference or a slow bluetooth chip. I was using a USB bluetooth nugget and this fixed it but it is getting annoying to have to keep unplugging and replugging it to get it to work, and sometimes when I plug it in my mac just turns off????
 
I have this problem with the logitech anywhere mouse. it skips, jumps and teleports all over the screen. Its not even bluetooth. so not sure whats causing it. I did check the lens ect for cat hair. still works like crap. I wish I knew a fix. now im using a 10 dollar mouse since the logitech wont work.
