One of my main modes of travel here in my town. I don't really feel I have a town since I've moved so much in the past 12 years but D.C / N. Virginia will do for now.

I like it. I'm a sucker for symmetrical images. Not sure why. The video was well done also. I've often thought about trying a serious of short shots like that...more of a video of still images but I haven't really gotten in to it. I like the video ok on my D90 but it's nothing stellar.

Don't feel like anybody has too but it would be nice to know where all the towns are...:)

Wow...kind of a slow challenge so far. I thought this one would get a ton of entries. Here's another one from this side of the U.S.

Speaking for myself, I think it's a great topic and should get plenty of entries - I've just been waiting for the weekend to take some of the shots I have in mind. It's about a half hour before sunrise here - I'm off to find a hole in the weather and see what I can do.

Cheers!

My Town front porch: caught by the cage, help me....

I was on our front porch a few weeks back, enjoying the day with my 4 year old son and look who got "caught by the cage"

Caught in a chipmunk proof cage!

Release un-harmed by the jaws of life...
I wish that I had recorded the sounds he made as I released him, needless to say I was wearing heavy duty gloves and goggles.

Aha! Used to live there. Well, in Penn Valley. I miss that town. A friend owned a gallery on Broad Street for a short while. Nice HDR. Not too overdone. The area of sky over the top of the porch is a little distracting but I imagine it was pretty bright sky right there.

Well howdy "ex"-neighbor. I've lived here since 88/89. And still love it.
I agree about that bit of bright sky - hard to avoid with HDR when something is backlit. i tried to tone down the strength to minimize it, but it's definitely still there. Oh well ... one can only keep trying.

My other picture was dreary and dark, so I figure I'd show my HOME in a new light.

Well, I'm sort of split between NEPA and NoVA these days, but since everyone's being pretty liberal about "town," I'll add this pano shot last week at Lake Scranton in NEPA, just posted in the POTD thread too...
