So I installed Rock so I could try out MyWi. After I saw that it was $10 I immediately uninstalled rock. Now, randomly, whenever I enter apps (app store included) my phone will hang for a few minutes. Now, this sucks, because my sleep button doesn't work, which makes this pretty stuipid. So,

1) Can someone explain why Rock sucks SO HARD?
2) Deleted, I fail.
3) Any suggestions on how to prevent these stupid hangs?

yup simplest advice stay away from Rock! ;) if I didn't say it somebody else would. Seriously stick with Cydia simplest answer. Rock seems cool at 1st some good ideas. but Cydia is far better!

I use rock and it works better than Cydia IMO. Cydia always reloading data will sometimes make the app crash. Rock on the other hand doesn't have some off the app Cydia has and never has an icon in themes.

Remove both mywi with rock and rock. And then install again the no rock version. It's there on cydia.

It wont let me install the one without Rock. When I do, modmyi gives me a 403 error. I can only install the one with rock after click the trial link or whatever.

I'm having this issue as well.

I am trying item by item to see what's causing the shi$%y reception issues since the new Spirit Jailbreak. I uninstalled ROCK and then tried to install MyWi without the ROCK and it gave me 403 Error... couldn't proceed. Anyone?

I think you have to buy it through Rock, then uninstall Rock and install the NoRock version. Trying it now.

That's exactly what I did. Fail.

Fffffuuuuuuuuuuuu. Well it just worked for me:

Installed MyWi from Cydia.
Opened Rock and pressed Trial on MyWi
Bought MyWi through Rock.
Opened Cydia, installed MyWi (No Rock).
Saw rock was still there. Went to manage > packages > uninstall Rock.

MyWi with no Rock! YEAH!

Dude that's still installing it through Rock, hence u have rock extensions running, duhh.

I deleted MyWi then installed it just through Cydia. Would the extenions still be there? Are they listed under packages?

once rock is installed it never truly is gone without a restore, that's the crappy part of rock :-(

The MyWi people should really start selling MyWi through the Cydia Store. Rock can't be giving them terms that are that much better than Saurik's, and lots of other packages are available from both stores. Requiring Rock is really a pain in the ass. I won't have MyWi on my phone for that very reason.

Not for MyWi as of yet. Hopefully that changes soon since 99% of the JB community doesnt like rock.

I tried to uninstall after using rock and it also uninstalls the MyWi. (I'm a purchased user)... and so I installed using cydia and it failed saying Forbidden 403 when it tried to download\install, so not sure what the dilemma is.

anyone able to work through this issue?

Thanks!

Am I going crazy? Months ago I was able to download MyWi (No Rock) on my phone and it went though just fine. I may have had to purchase it through Appsidy, but it still worked without downloading Rock. Has this changed in the past two months?

Same here now I can't get it to work without rock and rock makes my reception horrid :-(
