how do I sign up to the 3g carrier?

I thought it would be obvious, I understand that you should be able to sign up through the ipad to a network carrier? any one done this already, I cant see how to do this.

Go to settings, cellular data.

(non of the tabs under sim applications do anything)

Do you have a "view account" tab? If so, tap on that. It will ask for your name and credit card info.

Yours might be the APN settings. My view account tab is on the same place.

Are you in the uk or us? If your in the uk your ipad has no sim in it!

im in the UK and the sim card is in it and its picked it up as O2. im not that stupid 😛

under APN theres only option of entering username password, nothing else.

You need to call o2 to activate the card.

spoke with O2, apparently the card hasnt been "provisioned" correctly and I should not be seeing the APN settings option. I have to get a new card from O2/apple. meh

I've got the same problem. Did they say if you can pick one up from an O2 store?

ahh problem resolved , had restore Ipad and then get the prompt again for "download carrier settings" when connected to itunes. this enabled the View account tab under ipad settings.

I believe its the carrier settings that didnt download properly, but I couldnt get the prompt again until I restored the ipad.
