Thought about what happens if coins are in you're pocket and bridges the different antenna connections together, or you have semi moist hands? Valid question, so chime in.

They have probably already thought about that and have made sure it works. If anything It will still be better than the Antenna currently in the iPhone.

Let's hope, because the keynote demo didn't go so well, and yet the 3GS did fine.

You don't realize that bandwidth around the center is tough on the days they hold the WWDC. Don't lose sleep over it.

what makes me happy is the phone can now pick up a signal and people can stop blaming att

And you know it picks up a better signal how??

I'm a bit worried that holding the antenna will harm reception. We'll see.

Just thought of something, if you order the optional bumper then you shouldn't have to worry about shorting it.

What is the purpose of the newly designed antenna? Better phone reception? Less dropped calls? Free up interior room for bigger battery and overall smaller phone dimensions? Other?

apple said it has a 4x better antenna, plus the ipad can get sooo much more signal.

I'm hoping for better GPS reliability with the new antenna design ,to combat the lag in tomtom/copilot.

Apple can "say" all they want. Do you believe everything you're told? We don't have real world proof.

The iPad doesn't use the same antenna setup.

Was there any improvement from 3G to 3GS? I had the 3G and will be updating to the new one asap, but the GPS in the 3G was worthless. If I was on the move, it was take minutes to figure out where I was at and where I was heading. It's still operating on the 3G network right as opposed to a dedicated satellite or something?

I guess I'm concerned but not on apple's part. I'm sure they built it to have great reception. AT&T on the other hand.....
