Who is concerned about the new antenna design?

Just thought of something, if you order the optional bumper then you shouldn't have to worry about shorting it.

What is the purpose of the newly designed antenna? Better phone reception? Less dropped calls? Free up interior room for bigger battery and overall smaller phone dimensions? Other?

We’ll know soon enough. I’m going to wait a few weeks to see how GPS/Wifi/3G work before making my decision. I would imagine it would greatly enhance the reception for all of these.

Apple can "say" all they want. Do you believe everything you're told? We don't have real world proof.

The iPad doesn't use the same antenna setup.

Was there any improvement from 3G to 3GS? I had the 3G and will be updating to the new one asap, but the GPS in the 3G was worthless. If I was on the move, it was take minutes to figure out where I was at and where I was heading. It's still operating on the 3G network right as opposed to a dedicated satellite or something?

The antenna is still in the phone. It's just going to use the edge to increase reception. What's so hard to understand about that?
