Iphone 4 screen repair mans worst nightmare?

I'm going to go with a no on this one. Why may you ask? They do say that it is 30 times stronger than plastic, and there is a video of it bending.
Land it flat on the ground, and it will smash. I have evidence. Before i show you the evidence, I am going to point out a design flaw that will bite them in the future. On the new iPhone, the glass basically sits on top of the aluminum frame. On the old iphone, it was recessed and protected by a chrome bezel.
We have a full iPhone 4(minus the circuit board), here at our shop and decided to do a little drop test. This drop was performed from 3.5 ft up. Mind you that these parts ARE original apple parts. The iPhone 4 did survive 2 drops, as expected, but on the 3rd drop there was a loud POP, and yet again, shattered glass.
i have to say i agree with ifixyouri........i have these parts in stock as well and while the glass does bend I still think glass breaks will happen both front and back...nice testing thou on the drops....
I'm hoping the bumpers will help protect the glass by keeping the glass off of any surface it strikes.

Crap I don't want to get the "bumper" case. It looks so much better naked.
For $29 I'd much rather look at other iP4 case offerings. The bumpers absolutely destroy the beauty of the design.
I'll be getting a bumper for my iPhone 4 after seeing this, the phone will be fully protected against drops unless it lands flat on a point (eg a rock). I don't think the bumpers look too bad...
Um, no. You can clearly see in the picture there that the glass is also recessed in some kind of bezel. You'll have to tell us what that is - plastic, metal, "magic"? It looks more recessed than MY Iphone's glass, that's for sure - my glass sits ABOVE the chrome.
...What are you talking about? That glass is not recessed. It's sitting right on top, completely exposed.
This screen is terrible
I had the same mishap as above very recently. I had my iPhone 4 on my lap and sure enough, within milliseconds it was on its way to eventual screen crackedge. This repair seems to be a doozy. The entire motherboard must be taken out just to access the screen. Seems like apple was a little upset to hear so many startups formed from the last screen repair. Looks like they can dominate the market with this one!
