At the iPhone hacks section.
I got a friend that has a 3G iphone unlocked with ultrasnow and his bootloader is the old 5.08 that can be downgraded with fuzzyband.
Should I upgrade to official 4.0 and then downgrade the baseband with fuzzyband or create a custom 4.0 when the tools are available and upgrade his phone to that IPSW?
Would it make any difference?
Would fuzzyband work with a JB 4.0 iphone 3G yet?

I hear you.
Its best to wait.
Maybe someone with a JB iphone 3G on 4.0 can let us know if he can install fuzzyband on his phone.
Or if the program would need to be updated to work with the latest firmware.

doing this now. just got 4.0 installed (factory) going to try restoring from backup first, then running redsn0w, then fuzzyband. will report back

might have hit a snag. as i assumed cydia doesn't work. however i thought you could get the files from a jb 4.0 beta 4 and paste them in. but it seems like this is from the .ipsw files which redsn0w doesn't create. So if someone knows or could point me how to get cydia up and running that would be much appreciated.

looks like i got cydia figured out just had to add the source back, onward

Well it does work. Not much from cydia works at the moment though. AptBackup was kinda pointless. But I do have multitasking and wallpapers enabled through redsn0w 0.9.5b1-5 or whatever. Fuzzyband took a few tries but in the end it worked. I'm on ATT so not like mattered much anyways. But just wanted to know it was possible just in case. If you have BL 5.08 and need an unlock go for it!

No photoshop, just masking the other bits.
