Hi guys!

Before I settle on buying a new unibody or old early 2008 macbook pro, I would like to know some information regarding the performance of the old 8600GT and the new 9600GT graphics chips.

Are we talking e.g. 2x performance improvement or just minor?

I read somewhere that the 9400m should have some performace issues when working with HD video - is that true?

Are you kidding me? You don't want to touch the 8600GT! I'm one of the many trying to get rid of my Santa Rosa MBP, which I otherwise love if it weren't for the accursed Nvidia 8600GT card in it!

Disregarding the 8600gt problems (for people living in a country with decent consumer rights), how is the performance?

The thing is that I can get this model cheap, I like the keyboard design much more than the new unibody and it has matt screen.

I can afford a new 15 uMBP now, but I would prefer to get at 17" because of matt screen and kick arse battery...

but... I can also get a 17" matt unibody with 20% ADC discount.... :)
