When you hook into iTunes with the iPad and it syncs, there is a meter down at the bottom that outlines the capacity of the iPad and the different categories. What does the orange 'Other' stand for? The iPad is already taking about 3GB off the top of a 32gb iPad, knocking down the initial capacity to 29.04GB, so what additional space in the 'other' category using?

about 300mb is the operating system, everything else in 'Other' is just data from games/documents/settings etc...

I know that everything that I have loaded through goodreader goes into other as well. I think it is for anything on the ipad that can't really be synced through itunes.

^^ Yup, its all the data being stored by the applications themselves. In my case, its tons of PDF files stored in Goodreader.
