For $6.99 shipped from Hong Kong, you can turn the backside white with the Apple logo and below details without having to replace the actual back cover.

Do you know of any actual OEM-quality replacement backs? White would be cool, but like red or blue would be really awesome with a black front.

i want just the oem peice in white.... too bad this cheap alternative has that nasty plastic on the sides... i wonder if a bumper would fit around this? that might work actually especially if you have a loose bumper.

It might be worth it just to order one and see what it is like. It's not $29 plus shipping like the bumpers!

Yes, you are correct. Just a snap on case, but I like how the Apple details are reprinted on the back of them, so it "looks" like it's authentically that color.

FYI, I'm not affiliated with the product or any of the eBay resellers. Just looking for a decent case.

LOL this is just for a cheapo case that simulates having a white back.

I wouldn't dare messing with my phone while it's under warranty :[ Who knows if there's an issue we don't know about yet. ahhhhhhhhhh

Actually, that's a bit different. The Gizmodo article is about replacing the physical front and back panels on the iPhone. The above link is just a case to make it look like a white iPhone.
