Hi all,

Ive decided its finally time to upgrade my screen real estate, currently running 17" ACD on a ATI 9600XT 128mb (max res 2048 x 1536) on my good ol dual 2.5GHz G5.

I plan on getting an additional monitor (looking at a 24" TN panel). I think i'll still use the 17" acd for word processing etc, but when im doing research and have multiple papers open ill use the 24 as well. Also i'd like to hook my xbox 360 up to it. Also for movies etc ill use the 24.

Whilst my GPU is rated up to 2048 x 1536 and 24 " is only 1900 x 1200 i was wondering how well it will perform (if at all) if it is powering my 17" ADC as well. Has anyone tried something similar?

I believe it should be fine, I run my macbook with a 24" samsung 1920 x 1200 pixels plus the internal lcd which is 1280 x 800. I think the max res points to the max res of each individual screen, usually graphics cards on deesktops support dual displays. my intel gma x3100 does, so the ATI, which outclasses my skimpy little intel should also.
