Which position do you use your iPad most? I like portrait most, but I do wish the rotation switch was software because I don't like hardware switches.

Only had this a few days but so far I would say 98% in landscape. I think a lot of that is because it's easier to type on though.

it largely depends on the app i'm using, but any sort of reading, Portrait. iBooks, Reeder, etc.

apps like Things, Pulse, and games i tend to use more in Landscape.

I'm definitely a portrait guy. So much so that I locked the rotation switch so that landscape wasn't forced upon me after a gentle tilt. It's fine though if an app calls for landscape. Well I guess it better be if it doesn't work in portrait! :p

My friend got an iPad the other day and brought it over to compare notes. I noticed right off the bat that he preferred landscape mode. I suggested he try the other orientation, but within a few minutes he had it back the way he felt comfortable with.

Portrait....... more info on the screen at the same time, especially while browsing. Plus, I've become quite a pro at typing with my thumbs while holding the iPad with my hands.

I can't believe how much landscape is winning. To be fair, I've switched to landscape right now for the fuller keyboard, but I default to portrait. I guess its because I mostly do reading on the iPad - web, books, comics. Isn't the portrait orientation one of the USPs of the iPad?

I keep it locked in landscape with the home button on the left about 95% of the time. Though I'm not 100% sure why I don't have the home button on the right...

I mostly use landscape because the stand on my case holds it in a landscape position. It is also better for reading books and watching movies and typing I think. Occasionally I will switch to portrait mode but I would say at least 80% of the time I use it in landscape.

It depends on the app and how I'm sitting etc. I just use it in whichever position is most comfortable or suitable without thinking about portrait or landscape. That's the beauty of the design, it really doesn't matter which way up you have it.

I do try to make sure the home button is to the right in landscape though, so I don't block the speaker.

I don't own an iPad, I really want to get one but i think as an iPhone owner it would be the same to me since the screen space is huge anyways

Typing, always landscape. Too hard for me in portrait. I also like to read in landscape, just like a book.

In fact the only time I portrait is when an app requires it.

reading in landscape (via iBooks) is painful to me. the text is easier to read and flows much nicer in portrait. the same goes for reeder.

safar its a toss up, depends if you want bigger text or if you want more text on the screen. etc.

Although I voted landscape (well first let me mention that this is a genuine poll rather than those stupid "iPad 2G polls") it truly depends on what I'm using it for. For game play, unless Landscape required, I prefer portrait where as for movies I don't.
