I should be receiving my new 17" i7 MBP this week, first Mac ever. I am a huge windows user, but decided that the form factor, battery life and the excitement in learning a new OS would be enough to warrant a MBP purchase.

Now to the point, I heavily rely on a middle (wheel) click for browsing, it opens links in new tabs instantly, closes tabs instantly, overall it's just really useful to me, I was just curious if there is a way to do this with the trackpad? I've done some fooling around in the Apple store and couldn't figure it out..

You can install bettertouch tool which will allow you to assign 3finger click to middle click. I also recommend assigning 3finger swipe left and right to cycle through your tabs.

Awesome! I've heard about BTT, glad to hear it supports middle clicks, will be one of my first installs!
