This probably has been asked before but I couldn't find a thread on point.

Can you use the iPad charger to charge an iPhone?

I know the connections all fit, but I'm worried that since the iPad charger is so much more powerful it might have some bad effect if hooked up to the iPhone. Is that wrong?

My wife charges her iPod touch using my iPad charger with no problems. As long as the voltage is the same, the device being charged will only draw the current it needs to charge.

But you do this at your own risk and I accept no responsibility for any loss or damage caused.

I use it every night. No issues.

I assume Apple planned for this. You give people 2 chargers with the same plug... they will use them for different devices.

yes, no problems and it will charge at a faster rate than a regular iphone/ipod charger would (higher mah)
