Hello-

I was just wondering the best way to clean my keyboard from the shinyness that appears. I always wash my hands. (Yes, I am OCD, and I honestly can't go without washing my hands for more than 30 minute intervals)
I've seen threads before and I apologize for posting this, however people have suggested Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and I find they just don't work for me.
Is there any other product that anyone at MRF uses and they would recommend?

Thank you!

I don't mind the shininess, I like how I can see what keys I use the most, and where I hit them.
Lol

It just bothers me because the keys don't match.

I guess I'll try using my other keys more. xD

To answer your question, I sprayed windex on a microfiber and then cleaned the keyboard. It worked pretty well, but their are probably specialty sprays that fight greece better.

If you've been using your Mac fairly heavily for about a year or so, you'll be able to see the grease marks showing where you hit the keys (if you look at the keys at a certain angle under good light).

The shininess comes from the oils in your fingers wearing away at the textured finish of the keys over time. There's really no way to avoid this, save for perhaps wearing latex or nitrile gloves while you type. I guess it depends on how OCD you really are...

Alternatively, you can get a silicone keyboard protection overlay from companies like KB Covers and then you wouldn't be touching the actual surfaces of the keys at all.

Windex and paper towels. However, more used keys will become shiny after a while.

Yeah i havd heard that greece is pretty dangerous
Good to know that windex keeps greece at bay.
