This is possible by deleting rock manually (not uninstall through Cydia) from the iPhone is it not? Has anyone done this on the iPhone 4 4.0+ and what exatly did you delete to remove it all?

Added a certain repo and installed a certain .deb. Though, if I give you more info ill get a warning. So i cant.
No it is not. I just tried through Cydia and when I chose to remove Rock, it wanted to remove MyWi as well.
How is it that the older no rock version gets away with it? Rewritten to use mobilesubstrate?
Installing MyWi 4.0 requires Rock. Trying to remove Rock from Cydia wants to remove MyWi also. It is the full version of MyWi.

That would be nice. I miss back when apps like iBlacklist would have a serial number base on the phones IMEI. Yes it was easier to fake but I never had login problems on Rock either. The sites forgot my password never seemed to work either, no email would ever arrive.
The owner of Rock Your phone is horrible and he never responds. After buying MyWi a while back, one day I couldn't login to activate my MyWi after a restore. I emailed the owner and he never got back to me so I ended up buying MyWi again.
The current version of MyWI required to have Rock installed, if you removed it manually using SSH, MyWi will crash, if you remove it using Cydia it will also remove MyWi. There is not "official" way to do it.
Developer already announced he is working on a Rock free version so just hand tight with Rock for a bit longer.

I used spirit back in 3.13 days. Installed my3g and mywi. One day I was doing updates and phone hung up. Had to restore.....4.2!!! So....after finally getting firmware back to 4.01...Jailbreakme...I go to instll mywi again..It wanst password. I put in what I think it is...IT DONT WORK. Im using trial version. Who do I contact to get my password back????

Anyway the V4 seems like a worthwhile upgrade. Supposed to hlp with the heat which was definately an issue!!
It seems that #4 is an upgrade. I was so sure that I had messed up that I took it for granted that I wuz fergettin the passwd(btw found a great app for that too...msecure)

i have mywi 4.3.4 no rock installed on my iphone 4 4.0.1 with no problem... u have to find the right repo that has the .deb file to install. most likely it wont require you to install rock at the same time, but if it does- remove through cydia after installing the mywi no rock and it should work fine.
It's not complicated. Some people want a WiFi access point that can support more than one connection. What's so hard to understand about that?
IIRC MyWi primarily uses Rock for licensing. Hacking out the requirement for Rock consequently removes the copy protection. The developer is working to add alternative license routine to allow it work through Cydia.
BTW - I was initially worried about adding Rock since I didn't want the extra overhead, but after using it for a few weeks, I really like it. It's faster to refresh and for installing. Generally it's a more stable and intuitive UI.
